Logo Importance

Have you ever wondered what effect a logo has on those that view it? Look at it this way. What's the first thing you think of when I mention McDonalds? Most of you would have thought of those golden arches. Well Logos are important, but its importance lies in the reverse of this example. Let me explain.

Sometimes when I mention a business, you may not think of their logo first, But what if i show you a picture of the logo. 9 times out of 10, you will be able to identify the business it is associated with. Of course this only applies with businesses you have had contact with. Obviously if I show you the logo of some business you have never heard of, You won't have a clue what the business is.

The importance of a logo lies in its ability to be remembered by a customer. Logos need to remain simple, yet effective. The logo needs to be a graphic, of the business name. Most people remember in pictures not words. When I ask you to remember the last restaurant you ate at, does the name pop into your head, or a picture?

Perhaps you can't remember the name of that restaurant, but you remember the logo on the napkin. It was a silver bullet flying through a steak, then Boom! Silver Bullet Steak House, it triggers (pardon the puns) the name of the restaurant. This is why logos are important, and why it is best to have one, which is simply a graphic of you business name.
